General: Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and experience teaching students. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. Candidates must also be able to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs. Candidate must agree with our Statement of Faith and have a heart for serving others as a reflection of Christian ministry.

Student Support & Admissions & Title Fund Management (Bilingual Preferred)

Overview
The Student Support & Admissions Assistant plays a dual role in providing hands-on support during the school day and guiding new families through the admissions process. This position is designed for someone who can combine direct student care with excellent organizational and communication skills — with an emphasis on bilingual communication and translation support — to ensure Charis Academy maintains a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for students and families.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support

Serve as a Recess Monitor on Mondays, Thursdays, and some Fridays.

Act as an Aide for K-2 in the afternoons on Mondays and Fridays (with potential for all-day support as needed).

Provide Lunch Help as available (optional but valued).

Assist with translation during the school day to help bridge communication between teachers, staff, students, and families.

Support events by providing live translation and ensuring all families can fully participate.

Admissions Support

Manage admissions process logistics, including scheduling all aspects of the application process.

Title Fund management
-
Process new student records accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain regular contact with parents, walking them through the application and financial aid process with clarity and care — including translation where needed.

Conduct outreach and follow-up with prospective students, including calls, church/community connections, and other recruitment opportunities.

Track and coordinate communication to ensure no family falls through the cracks during the admissions process.

Qualifications
-
Bilingual in English and Spanish (or other languages common in the Hazleton area) with strong translation and interpretation skills.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with families of diverse backgrounds.

Comfortable supervising students in recess, lunch, and classroom settings.

Flexible and willing to serve in multiple capacities.

Prior school, admissions, or administrative experience is preferred but not required.
