Charis Academy utilizes a need-based, Indexed Tuition model to determine a family's financial contribution, while ensuring the sustainability of the school and maintaining financial accessibility. Indexed tuition has the added benefit of reinforcing our vision to bless the city. By increasing economic diversity in the school, we add value to the educational and social-emotional experience for both children and adults by reflecting the Kingdom of God.

Tuition payments may be made in one lump sum, two payments (August and January), or ten monthly payments (August–May). Tuition may change from year-to-year, in line with a family's economic profile. Determinations are made by reviewing a family's entire financial profile and are not based solely on income. Considerations include but are not limited to:

  • The number of siblings attending Charis Academy

  • Whether the amount a family is paying is consistent with what other families with a similar financial profile are paying

  • Extenuating circumstances affecting a particular family

  • The school's ability to provide the level of financial aid necessary to meet a family's financial responsibilities

*The above table is based on the 2024–2025 school year. Tuition covers Charis Academy instructional and operational costs. It does not include the cost of books and educational materials, field trips, retreats, or fees for extra-curricular activities such as basketball, track, yearbooks, etc.

Families must apply for financial aid annually using an online financial needs assessment application through FACTS Management, a third-party organization. FACTS protects the privacy of our school families' information and determines a family's ability to pay. The application takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Note: If you already have an account with FACTS from another private school, and if your information is current (most recent tax return), you can add Charis Academy to your current account. You do not need to reapply, nor do you need to pay the application fee.

The application must be complete, including a completed tax return and all backup paperwork, for FACTS to finish the financial aid review. Charis Academy must receive a report of completion from FACTS for your application to be part of our review process.

The annual deadline to complete the FACTS Financial Aid application is May 15. You may still apply after May 15, but your application will be of lower priority than those received by the deadline.

If you have questions or concerns about the application process, you may speak with a FACTS Customer Care Representative at (866) 441-4637.

Scholarships

The Charis Academy Development Team works diligently to secure scholarships and make tuition affordable for families. We currently offer the following scholarships to students with demonstrated financial need, as scholarship monies are made available:

Based on financial need, scholarships in the Adopt a Student program are sponsored by individuals and businesses.

Awards are based on availability and financial need in the amounts of:

  • $3,400 "Partner Scholarship" - Matches the average family contribution amount

  • $6,600 "Second Mile Scholarship" - Fills the remaining tuition gap after the average family contribution

  • $10,000 "Full Year Scholarship" - Covers tuition for the entire year (with a $2,500 gap to be filled by EITC funds)

Families of this scholarship are still responsible for books and materials and other fees not covered by tuition (i.e., enrollment; extracurricular participation).

Families are also encouraged to apply to other needs-based scholarship funds from external organizations, including but not limited to:

  • Entering grades 2–11
